eBay Tips:
Here's some tips for new eBayers!
Search by "Ending Soonest"
There is a drop down list on the right side of this panel, just above the items, and it is set to "Ending Soonest" You will see many items that are ending in a few minutes, and that is where you can find great bargains! Some may have no bids, or only a few, and if you can grab this now at the end of the auction, you will get a real eBay deal!
Just be sure to read the description thoroughly, and if there is still any question that you may have, such as "Is it new" or "What is the Return Policy" then don't bid this time around.
Search by "Newly Listed"
Another way I have found many great buys is to change that drop down list to "Newly Listed" You can read the listings that are newest, and some may be way underpriced. They will never last until the ending time, as some smart bargain hunter will quickly "Buy It Now" Hope that will be you or me!
Search for New Items, or New with Tags:
If you are looking for only New items, just type NEW into the Search box, and check off "Search Titles and Description" or type NWT for new, with tags!
Read the Item Description:
Just read the description very carefully, make sure to look for tne condition in the description, is it New or Used.
What is the color, is it written the same color as the photo, or is there two shown in the photo, but only one in the listing description.
What is the shipping price? It should be clearly stated, as well as a return policy.
Ask the Buyer a Question:
If there is time, ask the seller. There is always a link, usually in the top right corner of the listing, to "Ask the seller a question"
Also there is a link to "Contact Seller" on their feedback page.
Unfortunately, if the listing is ending soon, you won't have time to ask. The sellers don't answer emails 24/7/365. You should give them at least 24 hours to respond, and longer on the weekend.
Check the Feedback Rating
Check the feedback rating of the seller, it should be close to 100% and usually over 100 feedbacks given is a good number to show that the seller is probably committed to eBay.
Read some of the feedback comments. Click on the "See Detailed Feedback" link in the top right corner, or click on the actual feedback number, which is next to the users name. Do the buyers say "I'll be back" or "Highly recommended" or "Great Seller"? Some buyers just don't say much, like "thanks" or "fast shipping" but you can get a general feeling about the seller from reading some of their feedback.
eBay Abbreviations and words unique to eBay
NWT = New with Tags
OOAK = One of a Kind
EUC = Excellent Used Condition
FS = Full Size
NIB = New in Box
DSR's = Detailed Seller Ratings are a 5 Gold Star Rating system where buyers rate the sellers in Communication, Item Description, Shipping Time and Shipping Price. The ratings are found along with the Feedback comments on the sellers detailed Feedback Profile page.
Top Rated Seller = a top rated seller has a badge prominently displayed on their listings and it is awarded by eBay if the seller has very high Detailed Seller Ratings (DSR's) and they adhere to eBay's policies. You can expect fast shipping and excellent customer service from a Top Rated Seller. They are re-evaluated every month by eBay and would lose their status if their DSR's go down, so these badges are up to date and should give you real confidence in making a purchase with a Top Rated Seller.
Powerseller = a Powerseller generally must meet a minimum amount of sales per month on eBay, and meets other qualifications in Feedback, and DSR's to earn the Powerseller symbol. This is another indication of a committed eBay seller, and you can trust that this seller is going to be there for you if you have any problem with the transaction.
